KRUSHHAMMER
Blood, Violence & Blasphemy

Helldprod (2022)
Rating: 7/10

In 2019 this Brazilian act released an EP entitled Speed Blacking Hell, and that’s all you need to know. Nodding to the first barbaric wave of nasty South American metal, the Belo Horizonte-based band continues its perverse pummelling by way of this 28 minute blitzkrieg.

Blood, Violence & Blasphemy is an enjoyable romp through the abrasive and satanic side of black thrash which clogged our veins in the 80s and it’s the work of vocalist Marcel Krusher, guitarist Bruno Nekrolucifer, bassist Alberth Desecrator and drummer Philippe Hellish. Imagine Slayer’s classic 1983 debut album Show No Mercy mashed together with Sarcófago, old Sepultura and laced with some Teutonic fire and you’ve got this speeding heap of apocalyptic noise.

The titles are standard fare; ‘Morbid Future’, ‘Evil Domain’, ‘Sorcery Rites’, ‘Born To Blasphemy’ and ‘Satanic Fire’ just a few to name within the pile but all delivered with the same rusty and relentless speed, while 2020 single ‘Try Suicide’ also turns up nestled amongst the thorns and as despicable as the rest.

There’s no variation as KrushHammer rattles away with youthful wildness and boasting a guitar sound recorded in a cave. But if you like fast, feisty and evil metal then you could do a lot worse than inhaling the black smoke vomited out of this bestial manifestation.
