Rotten Vomit

The clues are there in band name and album title, this being the debut full-length offering from this sick Swedish trio.
For guaranteed headaches, nosebleeds, bodily rupturing and skeletal erosion, then I’d suggest this horrible album. This is one vile, relentless heap of madness that makes you question the sanity of its creator.
What you get here are 11 nasty tracks that sit somewhere within a death / doom mash-up and which in truly unhinged manner focuses on bodily excretion.
The titles of the songs are the first warnings; ‘Apex Vomit’, ‘Primitive Puke’, ‘Vomiting Unholy Gore’, ‘Pus Belcher’, ‘Bludgeoned By Puke’ and the glorious interlude ‘Vomiting Black Sludge Upon The Crushed Skulls Of Our Enemies’ to name just a few. And the music matches the sickening titles as Vomitrot churns out evil waves of nauseating extremity, hammering violently with the barbaric toolkit they have assembled.
This is the sort of annihilating metal where the grading drifts from 1 to 9 out of 10 depending on your disposition. All I envision is a monstrous creature whose diet consists solely of vomit which in turn spends all of it’s time vomiting.
Vomitrot casts off great chunks of putrid liquid, cascading waterfalls of slime and sick, and walls of rancid putridity. It’s hard to just call it death / doom when all you’re doused with are violent gushes of cavernous noise.
Deep within the humid arteries of this thing are mid-paced expressions of draining anxiety, but elsewhere it’s just esoteric hammering, mainly from subterranean dweller Cave Belcher who merrily bashes away on his drums like an asylum patient committed for hammering his own skull.
Rotten Vomit is just all disgusting, primal ear torture that exists in its own puke, with wall to wall harrowing brutality not for the faint of heart. Brace yourself for a barrage of bile.
