Not so long ago I reviewed Cadaveric Mutation’s debut demo and the Brazilian death metal dudes have slithered back for some more unhealthy slop. As expected with this release the band continues to wallow in the depths of stinking gore, so prepare yourself for 11 minutes of total horror as Leandro Queiroz (vocals, guitar and drums) and Leonardo Garcia (bass) spin utterly vile tales drenched in sickly, coagulating riffs and guttural diarrhoea.

The opening strains of ‘Pissed And Raped’ sound like a dead body being dragged down basement stairs before the murky trudging takes over and then transforms into a speedy jam. The blubbery chugging also comes to the fore with ‘Orgasmic Flesh Harvest’. The drumming is ferocious throughout as if Leandro is bludgeoning heads with a baseball bat. Sure, it’s a simple underground and understated death metal racket, the only thing missing being a smattering of sleazy movies samples.

‘Sadistic Taxidermy’ offers a despicable slime-ridden slog coated in bile-soaked vocal slurps, akin to Sequestrum or classic Carcass. The same can be said for the closing slurry of ‘Mummification Metamorphosis’ as the duo hacks, chops and slashes up torsos in their grimy cellar.

Predictably foul, Cadaveric Mutation vomits up more chunky stomach contents, so let’s hope a full-length album isn’t too far away.
