AHAB Unveil Music Video For ‘Mobilis In Mobili’ Track
January 13th, 2023

German doom metal band Ahab have released a music video for the track ‘Mobilis In Mobili’, which can be viewed below.

Speaking about the song and video, guitarist Christian Hector said: “‘Mobilis In Mobili’ is quite a cavernous journey. Musically, it feels like a tune that goes back to the very first Ahab song ‘The Stream’ from 2004, at times, and even further to the early 90s when death metal exploded. You will know what I mean when you hear that particular riff in the mid-section.

“‘Mobilis In mobili’ deservedly ended up in our live set, as it’s a pleasure to play it on stage. The video for the third single taken from our new album, The Coral Tombs, was actually recorded during our first live gig on a ship: the MS Stubnitz in Hamburg, Germany.”

Ahab issued fifth full-length studio album The Coral Tombs on January 13th, 2022 through Napalm Records.

The Coral Tombs was recorded, mixed and mastered by Jens Siefert at RAMA Studios in Mannheim, Germany

Lyrically, the album was inspired by a maritime novel, as has previously been the case, in this instance inspired by 1869-70 Jules Verne book 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Ultha vocalist / bassist Chris Noir guests on the opening track ‘Prof. Arronax’ Descent Into The Vast Oceans’, while Esoteric frontman Greg Chandler guests on the closing song ‘The Mælstrom’.

Cover artwork was designed by Sebastian Jerke.

The track listing is as follows:

01. ‘Prof. Arronax’ Descent Into The Vast Oceans’ (feat. Chris Noir)
02. ‘Colossus Of The Liquid Graves’
03. ‘Mobilis In Mobili’
04. ‘The Sea As A Desert’
05. ‘A Coral Tomb’
06. ‘Ægri Somnia’
07. ‘The Mælstrom’

Ahab’s line-up is as follows:

Daniel Droste (vocals and guitars)
Christian Hector (guitars)
Stephan Wandernoth (bass)
Cornelius Althammer (drums and percussion)

An animated music video was released for the track ‘Colossus Of The Liquid Graves’. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the song ‘Prof. Arronax’. Both clips can also be viewed below.

Fourth studio record The Boats Of The Glen Carrig was released in August 2015 via Napalm Records.
