AUÐN Release Music Video For ‘Vökudraumsins fangi’ Title Track

Icelandic atmospheric black metal band Auðn have released a music video for the title track of their latest album Vökudraumsins fangi. Edited by Andri Björn Birgisson, the clip can be viewed below.
Regarding the song, Auðn stated: “‘Vökudraumsins fangi’ is the title song of our new album and deals with what we perceive to be real until our minds decide otherwise. Waking up in another time, feeling someone else’s presence within your being with memories foreign to you, feeling trapped in a perpetual nightmare, you begin to wonder if the life you believe you’ve led even existed at all.”
Auðn issued third full-length studio album Vökudraumsins fangi on October 30th, 2020 through Season Of Mist.
Auðn commented: “We are thrilled to announce our new album Vökudraumsins fangi which will be released through Season Of Mist this autumn. After the release of Farvegir fyrndar we found ourselves wanting to expand our horizons and try new directions with our music. Adding a new member to the fold we entered uncharted territory for Auðn. We further explored themes we have wanted to chart for some time. More aggression, more melody and with the help of Jens Bogren we achieved soundscapes that echo the vast desolation that is Auðn today.”

Vökudraumsins fangi was recorded at Sundlaugin Studio in Mosfellsbær, with production and sound engineering from Stephen Lockhart of Studio Emissary. Arnaldur Ingi Jónsson provided Hammond organ on the tracks ‘Næðir um’ and ‘Horfin mér’, while Magnús Jóhann Ragnarsson performed grand piano and mellotron on ‘Næðir um’ and the title track.
Mixing and mastering duties were handled by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden.
Cover artwork duties fell to Mýrmann.

Second studio record Farvegir fyrndar was released in November 2017 via Season Of Mist.
