BLACKMORE’S NIGHT Discuss ‘All Our Yesterdays’ Title Track
December 17th, 2015
English / US folk rock group Blackmore’s Night issued All Our Yesterdays on September 18th, 2015 through Frontiers Music Srl.
A video in which members Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night discuss the title track can be viewed below.
The Welsh titled composition ‘Allan Yn N Fan’ (English translation: ‘Out There’) was written by George Hesse. ‘Queen’s Lament’ is an acoustic guitar instrumental, while ‘The Darker Shade Of Black’ is an instrumental which places the spotlight on violin and guitar. ‘Earth Wind And Sky’ is an ode to nature, while ‘The Other Side’ book-ends two tracks sung by Candice, namely ‘Coming Home’ and the supernatural-themed ‘Will O’ The Wisp’.
Cover versions featured include the Gary White-penned ‘Long Long Time’ (recorded by Linda Ronstadt), Mike Oldfield’s ‘Moonlight Shadow’, and Sonny & Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe’.
