CARCASS Release Sixth Full-Length Album ‘Surgical Steel’
September 13th, 2013

Liverpool, England-based melodic death metal group Carcass issued sixth full-length album Surgical Steel in Europe (excluding the United Kingdom) on September 13th, 2013 through Nuclear Blast Records. The label also scheduled a United Kingdom release for September 16th, and subsequently a North American release for September 17th.

The outing was produced by Colin Richardson and mixed by Andy Sneap. Original drummer Ken Owen provides guest backing vocals on the tracks ‘Thrasher’s Abattoir’ and ‘Unfit For Human Consumption’.

Cover artwork was created by Martin Nesbitt.

Surgical Steel was made available in several formats, including a jewelcase CD edition, a digipak CD edition, a steel book edition, and a 2LP vinyl edition. Exclusively available through Nuclear Blast US mail-order and limited to 750 copies worldwide, a “surgical kit box” edition houses a DVD-sized booklet, an oversized poster, and a picture disc LP. Several formats feature the bonus track ‘Intensive Battery Brooding’.

Music videos were released for the tracks ‘The Granulating Dark Satanic Mills’ and ‘Unfit For Human Consumption’. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the song ‘Captive Bolt Pistol’. All three clips can be viewed below.

Fifth studio record Swansong was released in 1996 via Earache Records.
