DOWNFALL OF GAIA Release Fourth Studio Album

German extreme metal band Downfall Of Gaia issued fourth full-length studio album Atrophy on November 11th, 2016 through Metal Blade Records.
Atrophy was made available in the following formats; CD, 180g black vinyl, black / white vinyl (limited to 300 copies), clear vinyl (limited to 200 copies), and yellow marbled vinyl (limited to 200 copies).
The outing was recorded during June 2016 at Hidden Planet Studio in Berlin, Germany with Jan Oberg. Mixing and mastering was handled by Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden Studio in San Francisco, California.
Atrophy’s lyrical content concerns “the absurdity of life and human existence.”
Atrophy marks the first Downfall Of Gaia platter not to feature guitarist Peter Wolff, whose departure following a seven-year tenure was confirmed on December 22nd, 2015.

Directed, shot and edited by Martin Neumann, a music video was filmed for the track ‘Ephemerol’. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the title track.
The band commented: “We are pleased to present the lyric video for the title track of our recent album Atrophy, the grand finale of the story told on our latest record! This song is the end of a journey, the final chapter of a dialogue between life and death.”
