FLYING COLORS: ‘Bombs Away’ Performance Clip From ‘Second Flight: Live At The Z7’ DVD Issued
November 8th, 2015
Rock supergroup Flying Colors have released a performance clip for the track ‘Bombs Away’, which can be viewed below.
Flying Colors issue live release Second Flight: Live At The Z7 on November 13th, 2015 through Music Theories Recordings / Mascot Label Group in multiple formats (4K UltraHD, Blu-ray, DVD, LP + MP3, CD, iTunes, Headphone Surround, iTunes, and Pono).
The outing consists of live performance recorded and filmed on October 12th, 2014 at Z7 in Pratteln, Switzerland.
Viewers can listen to the performance in 5.1-Surround from behind the front-of-house soundboard, or from the front row. An audio-only version of the concert is available in Headphone Surround, which recreates the front-row surround mix entirely in headphones. The headphone mix will be available in formats up to uncompressed 24 bit / 192 KHz from HD audio distributors, such as Pono. Each one of the show’s mixes was mastered to two-inch analogue tape, and digitised separately for each audio format, by mix / mastering engineer Rich Mouser.
The audio itself underwent a new audio engineering process, Harmonic Phrase Analysis, developed specifically for the show at Manchester Metropolitan University in England. The technology reportedly reduces the unwanted processing normally associated with contemporary live recordings, imparting a more organic feel to the sound field. The video was mastered by special effects company Cinnafilm, using Dark Energy technology (IMAX). The concert was filmed using 24 cameras.
