Former CARNIVORE And PRIMAL SCREAM Guitarist Keith Alexander Dies Aged 41

Keith Alexander, formerly the guitarist of New York-based thrash metal group Carnivore and later of fellow New York-based thrashers Primal Scream, died in a motorcycle accident on July 11th, 2005 at the age of 41.
Keith Alexander Bonanno was born on November 23rd, 1963.
A member of Carnivore from 1983 until 1985, Alexander performed on the band’s self-titled 1985 debut album. The axeman was subsequently a part of Primal Scream’s line-up, appearing on 1987 lone full-length record Volume One. During 1991, Alexander was briefly a member of Los Angeles-based metal concern Savage Grace. Other performance credits include the bands Stardust, The Characters, and Venus.
A body piercer since 1991 and formerly a staff piercer at Gauntlet, Inc. in New York City, Alexander was a piercing consultant on 1998 horror movie StrangeLand. StrangeLand was written by and starred Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, with Alexander subsequently joining Dee Snider’s Sick Mutha Fuckers for a three-year stint, touring throughout North America and Scandinavia.
“I am profoundly saddened by the untimely passing of my dear friend,” commented Snider. “I will miss his energy, passion for life and our freewheeling conversations. I loved him and I will never forget him.”
A wake was held for Keith Alexander on July 14th, 2005 at Scarpaci Funeral Home at 1401 86th Street in Brooklyn, New York.
