German melodic death metal band Halls Of Oblivion have released a music video for the track ‘Buried By The Blackest Sand’, which can be viewed below.
Halls Of Oblivion issued second full-length studio album Eighteen Hundred And Froze To Death on June 9th, 2023 through Apostasy Records.
“Eighteen Hundred And Froze To Death tells a story about one of the darkest times of human history,” Halls Of Oblivion commented. “As a story that is rarely dealt with, the year without a summer is described in a somewhat chronological order. Starting with the eruption of Mount Tambora and the direct consequences on the environment such as the destruction and burial of the kingdom Tambora, the middle part of the album describes the global consequences of this eruption and the volcanic winter, which resulted in death and worldwide desolation. In contrast to the first eight songs, the epic 12-minute closer of the album ‘Dawn’ focuses on the principle that no matter what happens, life must go on and thereby ends the album with a surprisingly optimistic mindset. Be it death to life, omega to alpha, destruction to creation or end to start; Eighteen Hundred And Froze To Death deals with the paradox of life and the fact that it requires death for humanity to be sustained.”
Eighteen Hundred And Froze To Death was mixed and mastered by Nikita Kamprad of Der Weg einer Freiheit.
Cover artwork was designed by Raoul Mazzero of View From The Coffin.
