German thrash metal band Holy Moses have released an official lyric video for the track ‘Alternative Reality’, which can be viewed below.
Holy Moses issued 12th full-length studio album Invisible Queen on April 14th, 2023 through Fireflash Records, with distribution worldwide by Warner / ADA.
2023 will mark the final chapter of Holy Moses, rounded out with the release of Invisible Queen and a last run of live shows. “I joined Holy Moses in December 1981 and that profoundly changed the path I was meant to take in life,” said frontwoman Sabina Classen. “Our first album in 1986 was called Queen Of Siam and now to round things off, my final album with Holy Moses in 2023 will carry the title Invisible Queen. After 42 eventful years and after so many awesome albums, fantastic shows and incredible experiences, the time to write the last chapter of Holy Moses has arrived. And we are pleased to see this happen via Fireflash Records with the release of our 12th studio album Invisible Queen.”
Invisible Queen contains Holy Moses’ trademark style, it is contended. “My farewell album for the Final Reign Tour contains everything that made Holy Moses special in the past 43 years,” Sabina Classen said of the band’s music. “Vocally, I was overflowing with energy and felt like I was transported back to the 80s. Holy Moses have never released standard thrash songs, and we never will. We write songs which we like ourselves and don’t compromise in terms of trends and concessions to wrong expectations. We don’t have to please everybody, we’re our own brand, we have our own sound, which includes the occasional odd beat, technically demanding passages and unusual chord structures as well as interesting lyrics which deal with the dark side of people and their minds.”

A music video was filmed for the title track. “‘Invisible Queen’ has a double meaning,” Holy Moses said. “I’m going to disappear into the void and I’m proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish with Holy Moses since 1981. I never could have imagined that I would travel across most of the world with my high school band and eventually leave with such a clear statement, as I have with this album. This title track was tailored for me by my guitarist Pete. The lyrics are self-explanatory and is one of the heaviest songs on the album; it is pure, unadulterated thrash.”
In addition, a music video was filmed for the song ‘Cult Of The Machine’. “The number alludes to The New Machine Of Liechtenstein (1989),” Sabina Classen revealed. “A fanatical cult has formed around the machine, which is now finally being smashed and destroyed to bring humanity back from the darkness.”
