MOTOR SISTER Release Debut Studio Album ‘Ride’
March 9th, 2015

Los Angeles, California-based rock group Motor Sister issued debut full-length studio album Ride on March 9th, 2015 in Europe through Metal Blade Records. The label scheduled North American release for the 10th.

Motor Sister originally convened in 2013 to celebrate the 50th birthday of Anthrax guitarist and Motor Sister member Scott Ian, performing at the man’s home. The setlist was solely composed of tunes by Los Angeles-based rock ensemble Mother Superior, with friend and Mother Superior vocalist Jim Wilson stepping behind the microphone.

Inspired, Ian emailed producer Jay Ruston, querying as to whether he thought that same spontaneous energy could be captured, and whether a full-length consisting of Mother Superior numbers could be quickly recorded. Ruston replied in the affirmative, informing Ian that an album could be potentially cut over a two-day period. Ride was subsequently recorded over a two-day period, a week and a half later.

The track listing was as follows;

01. ‘A-Hole’
02. ‘This Song Reminds Me Of You’
03. ‘Beg Borrow Steal’
04. ‘Fool Around’
05. ‘Get That Girl’
06. ‘Head Hanging Low’
07. ‘Fork In The Road’
08. ‘Little Motor Sister’
09. ‘Pretty In The Morning’
10. ‘Whore’
11. ‘Doghouse’
12. ‘Devil Wind’

Motor Sister’s line-up was as follows;

Jim Wilson (vocals, guitar)
Pearl Aday (vocals, Mother Pearl)
Scott Ian (guitar, Anthrax)
Joey Vera (bass, Armored Saint / Fates Warning)
John Tempesta (drums, ex-Exodus / ex-Testament)

Directed by Jack Bennett, music videos were filmed for the tracks ‘Fork In The Road’, ‘A-Hole’ and ‘Beg Borrow Steal’. In addition, an official lyric video was created for the track ‘This Song Reminds Me Of You’. All four clips can be viewed below.
