MYSTIC CIRCLE Launch Music Video For Cover Of POSSESSED’s ‘Death Metal’
October 6th, 2022

German black / death metal band Mystic Circle have filmed a music video for their cover rendition of Possessed’s ‘Death Metal’. Directed by by Christine Lincke, the clip can be viewed below.

Speaking about the song, Mystic Circle’s Beelzebub said: “Possessed have always been a huge influence for Mystic Circle; not only being the inventors of satanic death metal but also by delivering a scene defining masterpiece like Seven Churches. They are one of the top three bands of the genre that have to be honoured the most besides Venom and Deicide in our opinion. In addition, Peter König added great guest vocals to our interpretation. He’s the singer of German act Gomorrha which also had an undeniable impact on us in our youthhood which makes the whole thing really come full circle for Mystic Circle.

Mystic Circle issued self-titled eighth full-length studio album on February 4th, 2022 through Atomic Fire Records.

The album was produced by the band and Nils Lesser at Vaultroom Productions.

Cover artwork was designed by Rafael Tavares.

02. ‘Seven Headed Dragon’

06. ‘The Arrival Of Baphomet’
07. ‘Curse Of The Wolf Demon’

* digipak CD bonus track

Mystic Circle’s line-up is as follows:

Beelzebub (vocals, guitars, bass and keyboards)
A. Blackwar (vocals, guitars, drums and keyboards)

‘Letters From The Devil’ was released in seven-inch black vinyl single format on November 19th, 2021, the single limited to 666 copies. Paired with the track was the non-album B-side ‘The Godsmasher’.

Regarding the song, the band stated: “This song tells the true story of a possessed nun who reportedly received messages from Satan at night back in 1676. Those were of a language that can’t be decoded to this day. Myths like these are always worthy of becoming a song within the Mystic Circle universe, of course. Musically, we kept it diabolical but still infectiously melodic. That diabolicalness has greatly been staged in our new music video. Get seduced…!”

Music videos were filmed for the tracks ‘Letters From The Devil’, ‘Belial Is My Name’ and ‘Darkness In Flames’. All three clips can also be viewed below.

Seventh studio record The Bloody Path Of God was released in February 2006 via Dockyard 1 Records.
