Huntington, California-based thrash metal group Slayer issued 12th full-length studio album Repentless on September 11th, 2015 through Nuclear Blast Records via Slayer’s own label imprint. This marked the end of a 28-year association with producer Rick Rubin and American Recordings.
The outing was recorded over a four-month period at Hollywood, California’s Henson Studios with producer Terry Date. In addition to the album’s material, six extra tracks were laid down. Cover artwork duties fell to Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco in collaboration with vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King.
The track ‘Piano Wire’ was written by late Slayer guitarist and co-founder Jeff Hanneman prior to his May 2013 death from alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver.
