MICHAEL SWEET: STRYPER Vocalist Releases Sixth Solo Studio Album ‘I’m Not Your Suicide’

Michael Sweet, vocalist of Orange County, California-based heavy metal group Stryper, issued solo full-length studio album I’m Not Your Suicide on May 6th, 2014. Guest musicians who appeared on the record include Kenny Aronoff (drummer, Chickenfoot), Chris Jericho (vocalist, Fozzy), Doug Aldrich (guitarist, Whitesnake), Tony Harnell (vocalist, TNT), Kevin Max (vocalist, Audio Adrenaline), Electra Mustaine, Paul McNamara, Charles Foley, John O’Boyle, Pete Adams, Sweet’s brother Robert (drums, Stryper) and Timothy Gaines (bassist, Stryper).
Comprised of 13 tracks, I’m Not Your Suicide’s release coincided with the issue of the Stryper frontman’s autobiography, Honestly.
The song ‘The Cause’ was made available for streaming on September 11th, 2013, marking the 12th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.

Music videos were filmed for the tracks ‘Coming Home’, ‘I’m Not Your Suicide’, and ‘Heart Of Gold’. Written by Neil Young, ‘Heart Of Gold’’s original rendition was featured on the February 1972 album Harvest. The title track, meanwhile, was issued as a digital single, with a portion of the proceeds from sales being donated to Childhelp.
In its first week of release, I’m Not Your Suicide sold roughly 2,900 copies in the United States, landing at position 154 on The Billboard 200.
