SYLOSIS Release Fourth Studio Album ‘Dormant Heart’
January 12th, 2015
Reading, Berkshire, United-Kingdom based heavy metal group Sylosis issued fourth studio full-length album Dormant Heart on January 12th, 2015 in the United Kingdom and North America through Nuclear Blast Records. The label scheduled release in the rest of Europe for the 16th.
The outing was produced by Sylosis frontman Josh Middleton with the help of engineer Scott Atkins, and was mastered by TesseracT guitarist Acle Kahney. Tracking sessions began in March 2014. Drum tracks were recorded in May of that year at Monkey Puzzle Studios by original drummer Rob Callard, who parted ways with Sylosis in September 2014 due to time restraints. Bleed From Within sticksman Ali Richardson stepped behind the kit for several shows during Sylosis’ spring 2014 tour, subsequently becoming a permanent member of the ensemble.
Dormant Heart’s cover artwork was designed by Bristol-based artist Bonfire, who had previously designed several T-shirts for Sylosis.
The album’s title refers to “people going through life on autopilot and being one of the herd”, Middleton stated.
