TURISAS Release Fourth Full-Length Album ‘Turisas2013’

Finnish folk metal group Turisas issued its fourth full-length album Turisas2013 in Europe on August 26th, 2013 through Century Media Records. The label also scheduled a North American release for September 3rd.
Much of the outing was cut by vocalist Mathias Nygård and guitarist Jussi Wickström in a remote house outside of Helsinki, with Nygård handling production duties. Additional recordings occurred at three other studios; drums were recorded at Atomic Spa Studio, orchestral parts were laid down at 5 by 5 Studio, both situated in Helsinki, while many vocal parts as well as additional acoustic parts were recorded at Sound Supreme Studio in Hämeenlinna, where Turisas had previously recorded the albums The Varangian Way (2007) and Stand Up And Fight (2011). Cutting the album, Turisas aimed to achieve an organic sound. Mixing and mastering was overseen by Jaime Gomez Arellano.
