VENOM PRISON Release Second Studio Album ‘Samsara’
March 15th, 2019

South Wales, United Kingdom-based death metal group Venom Prison issued second full-length studio album Samsara on March 15th, 2019 through Prosthetic Records.
Samsara’s title refers to the Buddhist concept of being reborn into a never-ending cycle of suffering. “Themes and topics explored in the album’s lyrics are more personal than on their debut, Animus,” states an accompanying press release. “Vocalist, Larissa Stupar, examines her own interpretation and experiences of suffering, as well as navigating broader societal concepts. It is a political thread of fury that delivers a lashing in the direction of human trafficking, capital punishment, and – as in the case of the first single, ‘Uterine Industrialisation’ – forced surrogacy.”
Samsara was recorded with producers Tom Dring and Arthur Rizk in the summer of 2018 at Vagrant Studio in Southport, England.
An official video featuring behind-the-scenes studio footage from the making of the album can be viewed below.
Cover artwork duties fell to Eliran Kantor.
